Anyone from Cleveland w/ 2000 classic.

i need a favor. i'm looking for an o.s. disk ver. 1.72 for the 2000 classic. my mpc has been down for more than a half a year. please holla at me asap if you do

thats the problem. i have windows xp. the zip 100 will not be recognized. plus i cant transmit it to the 100 from the computer. i need an alternative

xp shouldn't be an issue...i used to use an internal zip100 w/ my pc (xp)...no issues.

Guess what guys.. After 1hr of searching the internet, MPC 2k OS v1.72 is not longer avaliable. Im in the same boat with my man from Clevland.

SUX! My disks went bad.

Anyone out there with the zip please hook it up.

Even though I don't have a 2k, I got the file, I actually have several of all the different mpc os files allong with update and change historys just in case someone needs them. I could have passed you that from my hard drive.

I am trying to get my startup files working on a zip disc because my floppy drive is not working but i am having trouble.. Does the ZIP drive have to be on a specific SCSI ID and can any other scsi drives be simultaneously hooked up?

I want to say you can somehow get an scsi chain goin' on, but Im not totally sure how many or what devices this will work with. I have heard of a couple zip drives being chained together, but wether its true or not idk.

I have a ZIP + 2 external SCSI hard drives hooked up simultaneously to the MPC 2000, but I can't get it to load the OS files from the zip.. it runs through the SCSI ids at the startup and then defaults back to the 'Please insert MPC 2000 disc" message... I'll keep trying but it is pretty annoying...
