its because your pc is not an mpc which is the only thing that will read the .pgm and .seq or .snd files....

AFAIK you can edit pgm files saved on a PC formatted disk with MPCEditor, and you can save snd files as wav to a PC formatted disk and edit them in CoolEdit. I think you can save midi files of your songs to a pcf disk although seems a lot of trouble given there's a capable sequencer with editing on the mpc.

There is a program that I bought on line that burns akai format cds from akai format zips but i can't remember it's name, just that it works a treat for USD30 or something. I don't think anything else gets a PC close to "seeing" MPC2kxl formatted disks although I'm happy to be proved wrong. :?:

CEP cannot recognize ALL, APS and PGM. Those are AKAI ONLY formats..
You are stuck with MPC and MPCEditor (PGM only) when it comes to those files..

We are not even sure we understand what you are doing. Do you need to record the MPC's output so you can put it on a CD in audio format to listen using a regular CD player

OR

Are you trying to store the pgms and snd on a CD for archiving purposes so you can load them up in the PC later?

MPC out to PC line/aux in. Use appropriate cables/adapters.

Record using an audio editing program (I use Sound Forge).

Save recorded file as 16bit/44khz wav.

Burn that file via your burn program (I use Nero) as an "audio CD'.

Bam! done.. Play it in your home/car stereo..

Sorry for the confusion, try to be clear with your wording, explainations and problems next time man, hope that works for you..
