What's the purpose of putting the OS on every zip disk?

What's the purpose of putting the OS on every zip disk? I thought you just had to load it into the MPC and not on the disk.

What MPC do you own?

I use the regular 2 K.I have about 25 zip disks, and on each one i copied the OS: so i don't use the floppy any more cos' it' not a really good media( not solid enough,don't know the english word for fiable),and from the zip, the loading seems much faster.

If you ahve a 2k then it's obvious you need the OS to load your MPC EACH time you start it up..

2kxl, then it's just a copy I guess to make sure you don't loose it??!? Just copy the .BIN to your PC/MAC and burn it to CDRW for safekeeping..

kids with the classic 2000 should remember to keep a copy of the OS on floppy somewhere, as the mpc will only copy the os from a floppy (and i dont think its on the web no more, though it may be in the archive).

You should have stated at the beginning homie, xk doesn't need a start disk like 2k. You souldn't have to put it on every disk, if you do then something is wrong with your OS and maybe you should download another copy and reinstall.

You put the OS on every disk so that you can load up and start working instead of switching disks around to get started...
