Looking for the best kind of external card reader for PC

Hi, I recently upgraded my 2000XL to have a nice card reader inside but I haven't been able to locate a good card reader to plug in VIA usb on my pc. I bought one off eBay but the thing is a piece of junk and it won't read the card. I have a 1gb sandisk card...the kind that everyone says works well with my MPC card reader. So, what do you guys use to drop your samples off the computer on the disk to deliver into the MPC and vice versa from the MPC and then back into the computer? Maybe drop some links of the external PC card readers you are using. I am running windows XP and would need a USB reader.

hey arcade.

just go to newegg.com, and find anything that is external and usb. i just copped one that was a 43 in 1 reader, and it was only like 10 bills. anything there should work, and if it doesn't, they are pretty good with returns/exchanges.

This is what I installed in my music PC to swap samples between my 2k and my PC

The only problem I have is that my music PC only has USB1.1 on the mb, so it takes longer to read from/write to the card in my PC than if I had USB2.0 on-board. I have a USB2.0 card in the PC, but that card doesn't have any headers on it to feed the floppy card reader.

Thanks guys. I'm still not totally sure about which one will definitely work plugging into USB. I just don't want to order something again and wait for a few weeks just to have to send it back. There are so many choices on newegg (17 pages) that I am kind of lost. Is there a top of the line brand? Money is not an issue because I am sure this thing will be under $50 so I don't want to cut costs on this thing and get another cheap piece of junk.

Anymore specific recommendations. Also, they can not be internal. I need USB.

man how hard is it to go to best buy or cirtcuit city or office max, depot, etc. ? i mena i copped one for 20 bux that works great. here you go this is the exact same one i have i use it for my 8 track digital recorder card and mpc card. so i know it works. has never failed me. in fact i have bought them for my friends for x-mas nad b-days. aight peace fam

Sandisk makes a usb CF reader thats around 20 bucks that works like a charm. I know they sell them at best buy.
