Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By phatbeats Thu Jan 15, 2004 11:00 pm
I'm finally got my own MPC 2000xl. I've been using the MPC 2000XL at a local studio. But whenever i went to the studio they would load up the sounds before I go there, so now I have my own MPC and sample CD and I don't know how to load it up on the MPC. I have the studio plus. Since I have a sample CD would i have to load it up to my PC first then save it to a cd rom. If so I don't have one what would be the best cd rom to get?

I know I'm asking alot but i wanna get to making beats as soon as possible!!!

Are you a regular at that studio? They just let you go and freak their MPC anytime you want? Damn, that must be nice ;) Where you from? peace

If you have a zip drive built in in your mpc or you have an external zipdrive connected to your mpc then you can copy the contents from the cd to a zip via a drive connected to your pc/mac otherwise you'll need to buy an external scsi cdrom.

"now I have my own MPC and sample CD"

Congratulations!

Transferring to MPC depends on type of sample CD. Is it `windows` format or Akai format? What CD is it?

Do you have an external SCSI CDROM? Mine is hidden in my studio and no one would ever knew that I have one unless I told them..

The samples are in wav format

"I have a sample CD would i have to load it up to my PC first then save it to a cd rom"

Do you mean "save it to a disk"

"The samples are in wav format '

In most cases you for WAV format CD's you can simply load using your PC and save the WAV to disk for loading with the MPC.

Good luck.
