8 output board from other samplers- possible?

I've tried a search to no real use, so apologies if this has been done to death..

I've got an S3000xl with 8 outs board and from pictures it looks the same as the MPC IBM208P other than lead and steel plate below it. If I'm happy to mod the steel bit and sort a longer lead, will this still work/has anyone tried?

Think I'm a give it a go anyhow, just looking for some confirmation i guess....

Nah homie that's a no go. You need to get the IMB MPC 2000/XL 8 outs. Many katz have tried the S20000 8 outs but it's not the same.

hmm, well I'm trying S3000XL, not S2000 so we might be onto a winner. what probs have people had using other output boards?

I've just dropped the arse off it, and the outs all sit in the same place, and the connector fits. only probs are that cable arent long enough (I'm hunting an extension now) and the chassis suppport bits arent there, i reckon i'll botch something for that and try once I sort the cable. can but try...

Go ahead and try it mane. The S2000 fits perfect in the 2000/XL but the mother board does not read it.

I think that Boards (8-Outs and FX) from the 3000XL will work in the 2kXL.
They come from the same Aera.

yeah, just waiting on an extension IDE lead and I'll be giving it a go...
