zip drive madness

im getting disk read error on some disks but one disk totally will not load or save,,,is there any way to make a disk start working again?

i got a new drive but it just said disk error #6 or some ish

now i know why everyone on here disses zips,,,,i think floppy maybe better...i think it sounds better to.....dosent dj preimere save all his beats of floppy?

It's probably you kept your zip disks too close to a magnet and now they are fkd or you got the dreaded Zip disk "Click of Death".
Bro... I went from the Floppy (no probs), to the (internal) Zip 100 (no probs) to the Zip250 (no probs) to the Microtech -47b SCSI card reader (never no probs). It's all about what you want to do.
Some people save on floppy because that's probably all the means they got.
Case in point... I got an Ensoniq ASR-10.. no scsi board so I have to fk with the floppy. Do I like it... hellz no! So used to my card reader on my MPC2KXL I miss it but I gots to do what I gots to do.

yeah,,im kind of a noob,,,,i dident know magnets were bad for zips...thanks for the tip

maybe i ruined it by over saveing and resaveing PGM's ?

overwriting pgms or sequence files wouldnt do that there is probably something wrong with the disks or the drive it self. before trashing the disks id definately try a different drive see if that fixes it.

zip disks are full of moving parts, movings parts means friction, frictions means wear. this is bound to happen eventually. its a good practice to back up regulary, and keep a disk in the cupboard away from static, magnetic, or constant re-writing.
