Trouble with SCSI Zip Drive & MPC 2000XL

I'm having trouble formating the Iomgea 250 Meg SCSI Zip Drive with my MPC 2000XL. On the back of the zip drive there is a part that has the word "ZIP" and next to it is a termination option switch, while on the other side their is something that looks like a G logo, and next to that is the SCSI ID #'s 5 and 6. Which part do I hook the cable in? This what I’m mostly unsure of, either to put the cable of the zip chord in the "Zip" part or the one that looks like a G logo. Also what ID number should I use on the zip drive? The MPC manual says not to use SCSI ID 6 and so I used SCSI ID 5. Is that right?

For Zip Disks should I buy PC formated instead of MAC formated zips (I have one Mac Fuji zip disk). Where is a good place to buy zip disks via online or regular store, ex. Staples or Best Buy? Thanks in advance.

Im not sure about the 'G' type connection your talking baout, but Id go for the labeled connection

As for Scsi ID, use 5. Make sure you search for SCSI Device ID 5 in the MPC when you want to load up samples etc. Any other number and the MP wont be able to find your ZIP.

I use either PC or Mac formatted...Whatever the shop has. Just format it anyway in your PC

They are bothh the same size the extra one is for daisy chaining your zip drive with other scsi pieces of equipment. The channel you want to use is ID#5. As for the termination switch setting until you add something else to your daisy chain this should be set to terminated. The first and last piece in any scsi daisy chanin should always be terminated. The MPC is Automatically terminated. Have fun!

Im sorry, I alomost forgot about your second question. I don't believe it matters which format it is PC or MAC because you can always format the zip in your MPC. I could be wrong about the compatability but it's not likely. However if you will be loading and saving from a computer then it's best to leave the disk PC formatted or Partition it on the PC. Either way the zip will still work.

That symbol is actually the symbol for the equvilant of scsi thats the symbol
