Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

sgood yall just got this mpc joint. my problem is when i am playing on the pads sometimes the sounds trigger twice like one immeaditly after another. doesn't matter if it is set to poly or mono or if full level is on...i've looked through the manual and i've tried searching before posting something silly but 2 weeks now and i can't get it to stop. it all seems to depend on how hard you hit the pads if it triggers twice or not. whack.
anyone knows whats up?

i hope i explained myself good, if you hit the pad soft it doesn't do it but if you hit it hard it does it.

you gotta get used to the pads, your probally hitting it twice and not even knowing. If you said you already changed the pad from poly to mono you should be straight. good luck

did you just get your mpc? when i first used a mpc2000 i did that. then when i got mine, my friends had the same problem on my new one even though i didn't. usually the first couple times it happens to everyone on my machine, but once you learn how to play the MPC that problem will stop. it is kinda like when you squeak when learning a sax. the MPC is an instrument and you gotta learn it and get good at it. after playing often for 5 years i am pretty decent at it now, and i have learned almost everything about every function, as well as how to rock the pads. soon enough you'll totally forget about the double triggering thing until your friend does the same thing.

to actually answer your question: i think it is your finger bouncing off the pads, you need a quicker touch

ps my MPC has not been turned on for a week i miss the thing so damn much. i was trying to sequence on computer the other day, and i missed the MPCs tightness so much. computer sequencers blow.

peyote you got a soundclick or myspace?

yeah word up i got mine 8months ago and i couldnt figure that out. dope description about the sax. i hink it is to do with your recation time and your brain not telling your fingers to respond quick enough. you get used to it after a while. i have this problem with my index finger. i dont even use it because its just sifty as hell. sometimes i do on a large break but it always tends to get that double hit.
