Sample Slicing/chopping

I have a sample and assigned it to 16 pieces. The problem is when I try to hit each pad on time, the sample will not continue without having a milasecond delay. How do I get these to flow from one to another without it feeling wrong? 2000xl

depends how you chopped it..
did you record each sample in separately and then assign em to pads.
if so check your trim page and adjust the sample start points.

or do you mean that you want each sample to stop when you play the next pad/sample? if so you can adjust the way each sample is played in the program screen by adjusting the play mode.

Does that mean that when Ive seen guys load all 16 pads with one sample cut into sixteen pieces, that they trimmed each pad to be perfectly on the beat? That seems like so much work to make it happen?

Seriously, you've got to put time into this to make it happen. Who else is gonna do it for you?

Is it best to make a beat first and then find the sample second? I would think then you could assign the sample to different pitches to see wich one plays best over the beat. Then the next step would be to trim that sample over the beat. Does this sound like a good working order of things?

There ain't no formula for making a beat...do what works and sounds good to you. Don't be afraid to spend time and explore your machine - figure out how to make it do what you want.

Try to hear how you want to flip a sample in your head first - or how you want the beat to sound first - then make it happen. DO YOU.
