I'm trying to get my external zip drive to work and I'm having a hell of a time. I have a external zip 100 and I bought the right cable, but when I go load from it in the mpc it seems to hang up. It displays "Wait......" and then nothing happens. I don't know where to set my ID on the zip because I don't see a switch there. If someone could help me, I appreciate it. Thanks.

uh huhhh. I see. I guess I didn't know that because when I had the 2k it worked fine. So I have to get an SCSI one then. that's cool. I was just hoping that my SCSI fuse wasn't blown. Thanks for the reply.

"when I had the 2k it worked fine."

Parallel port drives have never worked with any MPC.

Well when I sold the 2k, I sold the zip drive with it (big mistake). That one was SCSI and it had the id's. I remember that. I bought a new one off ebay and though it was a SCSI, but turned out to be parallel. It was only $10 anyway so no big loss there. I'll just use it on my pc. I just ordered another one which is SCSI, so it should work fine. Does the cable that comes with the Zip work or do you need to by a new one? Thanks everyone for your posts!

You will need to get another cable. Do a search, enter jdwand a link should pop up linking you to a store that carries the cable you need.

I already bought the cable from SCSI for samplers because I thought it was the problem why the other zip didn't work, but I realize it's parallel. Thanks man!
