hi..

having a problem i've never come accross before, my MPC is hanging in Wait... even though i have no SCSI attatched.

I bought a new SCSI hard drive, which works fine, attached it to scsi and turned on tried it out and got the wait... message, now i thought neads formatting or the termination isn't right but through testing things out i realised that even without the SCSI HD it's hanging on wait...

Is My SCSI port **** up ?? i havn't got a clue what it could be.

you missunderstand its giving me wait.. with NOTHING connected to the SCSI port, i disconnected the hard drive did everyting you say, turned off and on again, and went through every possible cause if you see what i mean came on here and searched liked your suppose to, i waited but it just hangs.

I'm not a newbie to MPCs and i have never had a SCSI hang with nothing connected to the SCSI port which is why i'm wondering if the SCSI port has had it, but surely the MPC wouldn't work if the SCSI port had blown ?

try to open up the mpc (dont do it if you're a noob with a screwdriver, then rather ask someone else to do it) try disconnecting the scsi -port from the "motherboard" (rtfm on installing scsi-ports and do this vice versa lol. ) try booting now, if this doesnt work, then your mp is fck'ed i'm afraid..

no it hangs even when the Hard Drive is connected, trouble is i ain't got anything else to test it, but i have a feeling the SCSI fuse has gone.
