Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By WatchYoNuggets Sat Jul 28, 2007 7:55 am
Hi peeps,
I recently installed the 8 outs board into my 2000 xl but i can´t manage to route mono channels out of it. Simple 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8......the mixer just allows me to route em in stero pairs 1+2, 3+4, 5+6, 7+8 etc......
Did i installed the board wrong or is it a OS issue (i´m running the 1.14 version)
It´s got to be possible to route them seperately out on the 2000XL, right?
Please let me know if ya know something
thanks in advance

Wassup Fella,

No worries if you sampled in stereo, rembember the MPC 2Kxl allows u to convert samples from stereo to mono.
I had the same issue 1st time I went to a studio, it's up to you but from then on I started sampling in mono (LEFT).

Peace

like other said,

i had the same problem. you have to convert samples to mono if you want to channel out a single output. and stereo if you want to do two.

Thanks for your responses fellas,
finally i figured it out, when you deal with a stereo sample the 2000xl only allows you to route the sample in stereo-pairs, dealing with mono samples allows you to route em to single outs
I was just sampling something quick to check the functionality of the 8 output-board after installing it and didn´t recognized that i sampled in stereo. After i sampled some drums in mono i was suddenly able to route the sounds to single outs :o
So simple but it got me mad.

Usually i sample in mono too :D

Can the digis on the on the 8 out be used to bounce tracks out or is it only for recording in in digital?

good question, i think yes since it´s an digital in and out it should be possible to "bounce tracks" too (i´ve read something about exactly this subject a while ago in the 2500 forum) but i could be wrong.

Hey i've got a question.. If i sample everything in mono and use the 8 individual outs to a mixer will i hear the sound from my mixer in both sides from my headphones or just the other?? sorry for my english and my poor knowledge

It'll depend on your mixers Pan settings, you should hear it in both channels though.
