won't read the card

i'm working with the 2000xl. i've got the multi card reader installed and i save my files onto a sd card. when i put the card in the pc he can read it but i can't save or delete something on it. it says always the card is write protected. i don't know what to do. i've looked in the characteristics but i couldn't find a solution there. what can i do??

Can't really help you with this but I've read on here that a lot of people have trouble with SD cards. I'm using CF cards and never had any problems with it. If I was you I'd just get a CF card to work with.

For the record I use a 1GB card with OS 1.20 which works great. With OS 1.14 I needed to make two 512MB partitions so I just upgraded to OS 1.20.

strange, now it works again i've put the card into the mpc and tried to make a new folder. he could't do it and the message was "write protected". i took it out put it into the pc and it worked again. sometimes i just hate those computer shizzl!

Hmmmm...Well I find regular computer ish a lot easier to understand and comprehend than mpc stuff...

I'm trying to get a floppy drive working in my 60. I get three types of errors:
- write protected
- no disc in drive
- area reserved for file directory is damaged

The weird thing is with some floppy drives, if I get the last error and try to format the disc again I get the no disc in drive error. If I take out the disc and insert it again it's again the last error...

Good luck with it, but still I'd stick to a CF card since nobody seems to have trouble with that.

dont some of those sd cards have a switch on them that can be switched from write/write protected?
