2000xl problems.. Give me a hand!

I have a 2000xl I haven't used in a while, so I decided to dust it off and mess around with it. It turned on with no problem, but when I tried loading up some old zip discs, it would say "scsi not found" on every scsi port available. I figured maybe the wires fell out of place, so I opened the machine up, pulled out the cables, gave it a few shots of compressed air, and closed everything back up.

Now when I turn the machine on, the display screen is completely blank and all the lights above every button stay lit. Left the machine on for a few minutes to see if it would fix itself somehow, but no dice. Before I go diving back in to try to fix whatever's wrong, I wanted to get some info/advice first. Anyone have any suggestions?

As you can tell, the machine's been upgraded with a zip drive and 32 megs of ram. Please help me out, thanks in advance.

okay homie the same thing happened to me fam. open that **** back up, unplugit first and over where it plugs in by the pwer supply the brown and blue wires attached tot he powere supply, tuck them down so they dont touch shit. okay now the ribbon coming from where the screen is and attaching to the board( a really thin flat ribbon) make sure this thing is attached properly. mine was loose. i ordered ram, and was even ready to drop the mpc off at vst then i opened mine and wiggled that ribbon around. it was mad loose. press firlmly down adn see if it snaps into place a little better, then polug it in and turn over to see if the mp turns on. my wire was just loose the whole time i had my mp for about four months and it sat there for three without me even knowing it was just aloose wire. dman. good luck man. shoot tme pam to let me know if it worked. aight peace

Thanks for the suggestion D-iLL, I'm back and functioning again however I'm still having the problem where the zip drive can't be detected. Any ideas on how I can fix this up?

i have the card reader so im not sure if this will work but i rememebr reading that there are settngs on the zip drive or something, try fooling with that.

take the zip drive out and make sure its set to master on the slave settings. let me know fambam. is it internal or external i didn't evn ask. let me knwo. i cna send you an internal 250 for 25 bucks if ya want man. i have an extra one. aight peace

Advice I can give is to terminate the ZIP drive and switch the scsi channel on 5 , both things are done in the back of the drive
