Sup guys?

I picked up my first MPC on ebay before I really knew what I was getting. Just wanted to get an MPC to handle sampling and sequencing in my lil bedroom studio.

The blue one is the MCD version? It will arrive in the mail tomorrow so I'll know soon enough just figured I'd say what up and get a post in on the boards as a new MPC owner.

Hey thanks for the replies.

Alih, I got it for 720, shipping included. Could probably have gotten another 20 - 30ish off (was a best offer deal) but I'm happy with what I paid.

Perks and roach, thanks for the info and the welcome. Already up in the manual. Gotta give this thing the crash test when it shows up and I don't know a thing about MPCs just yet.

No problem my man. The manuals cool to learn basic functions but you'll prolly outlearn it before ur halfway thru if your spendin time on the mp. Atleast I did. Get the 2000xl tutorial offa here tho. It'll teach you a lot of cool little tips that the manual won't touch on

Perks - yo man u know what? I was thinkin about gettin that tutorial but I was wonderin how much of that is already in the manual. You know, I was thinkin it was mainly made for people that for some reason didnt wanna read the manual. But hey if you vouch for it and say it's got stuff in it that the manual doesn't touch, I'll go ahead and grab a copy and get my feet wet.

MPC arrives today. I'm pretty excited to drop some beats on it. My sample collection is pretty healthy these days.

@ Perks - yeah man those other stuffs look good too. I decided to go ahead and grab that production suite and the mpc2000xl beat guide. I hope its good.

i know i can make good music cuz my mommy told me so (only half jokin man!) but seriously... i aint that good at polishing up stuff and makin my mix kick your face in so... grabbed up the whole lot cuz i really wanna take this shit to the next level.

way i see it, you can learn the hard way, or pay for some help. anyway since i got no mentor out here in south florida its just me and some gear.

ill let ya know how that drum layerin looks if you dont pick up soon.

im used to samplin in software. i gotta say, its weird having this small amount of samples available in ram. how do you cats cope with that? i mean, i only got 2mb now and i can fill up 4 pads if i try. i calculated it out, 32mb would be 16 times that, so if careful, i could fill up all of the pads in all the banks but shit, thats not for sure and any phrases , not just hits, will take up even more. ill get that ram in there and see whats up but its kinda different havin a ceilin over ur head after software.
