One midi Note off success

Hello all..
Now before i face the fireing squad i have done countless searches on this site and others for the answer to my question...
which is...
I have syncd my mpc 2000 up with Reason 3.0 that part is all good.In the midi/sync option i have selected midi clock and MMC off,in reason i have selected my usb midi contoller in corresponding Busses and midi channels.

Now when i record my track over a say a 2bar loop the 1st note on the 1 is out of sync..tends to lag behind. yet the rest of the track after the 1 plays fine.??

I have no luck with shift early(ms)option in the mpc either.

the gear involed in the kafuffle is:
-MPC2000
-Novation le midi controller
-Reason 3.0
-MAUDIO audiophile2496

Like the my title says im **** one note from layering the shit sideways out of my beats.

Any help,ideas or input would be great otherwise ill be back to doing my layering my old way!!

The problem is not on your MPC but rather on that shitty Reason. Thing is, that because of its built in latency, the first note goes always out of the loop. The only thing you can do to fix it is either not to record the first note when you start your recording, but rather wait until it comes back, or to quantize by hitting cntrl+k on your keyboard and everything will be fixed. Still, you can't make music without quantizing effects on that software.

PS Why the hell would you use Reason and your MPC as a slave?? That **** programme gots tons of latency in it.

Thankyou my friend..im using this to thicken up my sound with extra synth etc..im not sure about all this tek talk slave,latency??Do you have another suggestion?

The more ideas/ answers the better.

Latency is time gap between when you hit a tab and when you actually hear the sound played back. Don't expect huge differences, just extremelly small time gaps, but believe me, they a make a huge differnce. Just try to record hihats on the Reason and then record them directly using only the mpc.

Slave is that machine which follows the orders that come from another, or from a software, which is the master. When you link your MPC on the Reason, then your MPC just controls the software like a simple midi keyboard. All the internal sounds and effects are being played thru Reason, not the MPC.

What you must try and do is to work on the MPC as a standalone music box. Then you will notice all the differences stated above. Good luck.
