it's easy sometimes to get a double hit. you'll learn how to hit em and this problem should become worries of the past

Also if your MPC is connected to other midi gear, make sure that your gear is not set to "loop" your midi data. The MPC may be sending data to other midi device and that device may by re-sending the data back to the MPC which can cause double hits. HTH!!!

most likely a rookie problem. when I first got my mpc, i used to hit the pads all soft and sh!t. hit them joints wit authority. smack em in the middle, too. the longer you use the machine, you'll get used to it.
