Na you guys are crazy. EF-ing with the structure of you Equipment means trouble. The screen wasn't made to do that. For operating purposes. You'll never be able to close the hole in your right MPC ever.
Damage is eminent. Besides you just took 500 bucks off of the value of an already used MPC. I wouldn't say you destroyed your tool, but that's an improvision I would not have made without proffesional capability.
Like - Forat.com, He wold've did that for 150 bucks. Maybe.
Besides - Anything can go wrong with your hands.
I've just waited too long to get mine, Dust is an arch nemesis. I fight the dust bunnies all day. If you wantd a tilting screen you should have:
A) Invested in a MPC 60, 60II, or 3000 and maybe the 2k Xl.
B) Sent you equipment into a proffessional shop to have it well manufactured and warranted.
Cats disrespecting thier MP's and I myself fall into the same group.
Just won't make any changes unless I know what I'm doing.
As long as I waited, I'm seeing cas whom have good - Proper working peices , Only to mutilate them with thier closed captioned ideas of what they want their machine to look like. As if it's not doing enough.

Look kid.
I don't Hip-Hop for the weekends.
Nor did my Mom's pay for any of my equipment. I just feel respecting the architech is the same as respecting the architech's tools. These are my tools, Yeah you must put your name on them. But, why try and make a hammer into a screwdriver/ Just get a screwdriver.
Feel me.

no, i don't feel you.

i doubt mom paid for many mpcs on this forum, and i'm not sure what hip hop for the weekends means. i don't really care to know.

from your posts here about what people are doing, you're openly admitting that you don't understand what they are doing to the technology - and it scares you. through this, we can infer that the people doing the innovations know more about the guts of their sampler than you do. maybe this, too, scares you. furthermore, repeated attempts have proven favorable for other users - smoove flipped his screen, many others have installed a card reader, hundreds have upgraded their ram.

didn't you also advise people not to install memory into their samplers because of similar reasons, ie "you don't know what you're doing" or "this should be done by a professional?"

you fail to realize how basic all this stuff really is. we are not splicing genes, we're soldering, moving parts and innovating.

flipping a screen, installing a card reader, replacing buttons/faders/knobs/data wheels, changing the backlighting, installing new pads - these are all things you can do yourself without chipping out enormous labor costs for "professionals."

and kindly leave the "look kid" kind of talk untyped. i don't take kindly to inappropriate downtalk

My argument is this .
I'm seeing heads mess up their MPC's. For nor cuase. Inadvertently mounting thier LCD screens, Exposing gapping holes in their eqiupment.
My argument has never been that people are better than me.
Nor about being afraid. My MPC, In fact I have it open right now.
Replacing the fuses rinsing my pads. Those are easy lines.
What I was commenting on Bill O'Riley. Was the fact that heads are making these improvisions with no knowledge of what they are actually doing. I just don't agree with the whole make my own clause to my equipment.
Just for your information. Clearity is always the que - If you didn't understand it was becasue I worded it wrong. In simple data, F- you and your MP. Mess it up if you wish. Mine works fine now that I've maintained its integrity. Making inadvertant changes deprive your equipment of it's original face value, let alone if there is anything that would go wrong - NO Warranty. Buddy.
Mess with it and see. I didn't by my MPC because I wanted to change the LCD screen mount. Nor because I wanted to argue with heads who have the best MPC's and their beats still sound like Casio. Serve yourself to another antic. I do this becasue I care more about the Sound than I would say. Many people. So you can call me YOUR HIP HOP Survivor.
I should have my own show for you fools.

Don't really see why it matters enough to make a thread about it.You can get a new lcd screen for $150 or just screw it back in and the plastic lcd cover is cheap off ebay or from vst. As for the dust the classic already has slots on top,but I see how thats not a gapping hole. All in all the mod wasn't that big of a mod it would drop the resale/value $500 because it can easily be put back the way it was. Also I agree with ant it's their machines who gives a ****.

you're the most pastel little glassy eyed idealist i've ever seen dangle an avatar over half my screen. damn.

really, i am amazed at this position you're taking.
have you ever put ram into a PC before?

if you're looking at any of these mods thinking "500 dollar drop" then you've got your eyes on crooked. as ftpimp says, anything can be put back. in fact, the screen replacement tutorial demonstrated by the user a real mc demonstrates how to essentially turn a nonfunctioning mpc into a functioning mpc - thus bringing the dollar value up probably about 500.

but frankly dude if you're sitting in your studio and all you see is dollar signs, you and me differ so much that there might as well be no further comment.

i've got nothing but respect for these dudes who "mess up their mpcs." folks, has ANYONE ever seen people posting threads "HALP I KILLED MY MPC BCUZ I WANTED TO PUT A CANOPNER INIT" other than that one time?

peace

Hit Up Washington. Come on Ant. What are the beastly attacks for.
Are you like the MPC God or something screaming down on your Shepards herd. Wow you can read manuals and write quizes. Clown people with nerd slang/ But can you make MUSIC.
The question was stated towards people making adjustments to their LCD screens. Tearing up thier machines. In my beleif. If it's not yours so be it.
I agree to disagree.
That's why I don't own a 2000/2Kxl. I am not impressed with the things people are doing with them. Besides that the sound.
I just ran across a thread were a kid is adjusting his LCD screen and it's hanging off of the unit. It looked horrible. Then more heads are getting the same idea. Boredome leads to sin. If you wanted you MPC screen to turn, Rise, or Tilt. I was asking would it be better to send it in to a professional Tech - Or do it yourself.
This is Science class. SO Please Bill Nye if you'r out there. Show the kids how you made that patatoe into a radio.
60 ii All up in your Uterus. S950 - Beat it - SP12 - Sound.
