Newbie "not enough memory" error trying to load pgm's/snd's

I just got my fist MPC 2000 today. I'm trying to load a pgm with the snd's from the floppy drive for the first time, and I keep getting a "not enough memory" error. The unit has 32MB of RAM, am I not doing someting right?

Please help.

that happened to me maybe once or twice. What you can do is when you turn on ur mpc dont leave your disk in, put the disk in after it finishes reading to see if anything is inserted. Then go to the load page and load ur pgm and it should work fine

So Turn on the MP 2000 without the OS disk inserted?, load the OS, then load the pgm? and snd's

To be sure that your MPC is reading your 32MB go to the sample page (shift + 4) and highlight where it says ANALOG and press OPEN WINDOW and it will tell you how many MB are installed on your MPC, just to make sure that its reading your 32MB

Did that, is says 0 MB installed. How do I phsyically check? I just bought this unit, and they said it has 32MB installed. Will the MPC run with no memory installed?

Open it up and see if the RAM is installed... ATT: BEFORE OPENING YOUR UNIT BE SURE TO DISCHARGE YOURSELF OF ANY STATIC!!! I dont believe your MPC would run without memory (but dont quote me on that one). Your MPC should have 2MB of memory installed thats what it comes with stock. Peace

perhaps the memory sticks need to be re-seated?

Thanks guys, the memory needed to be re-seated, I think one of the 16s is bad cause it will only read 18MB (2MB on board + 1 16MB stick), but that's Ok I can get another one. At least I'm up and running now.

it is not possible havin' 0 Mb of RAm in the MPC...The minimum originally installed is 2 Mb......
