Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

yo, wassup mpc forums.
i got a question, i just installed 32 mb into my 2000xl and i thought it
would help chop up my samples.
i can sample a song but only for a few seconds.
and when i go to chop it up, it says that i dont have enough memory.

do i have to configure the memory into my mpc or does it do it by itself?

can someone please help me out?

thanks.

If you wanna know for sure how much memory it's seeing, boot it up, hit shift+sample and then hit Open Window.

If it still says 2MB, it's not seeing anything you put in. If it's seeing any other number, do the math to figure out if it's seeing all of it, part of it, etc.

I'd assume you put in two 16MB sticks, so if it says it's seeing 18MB, one stick is registering, etc.

Lotsa places to get the right RAM pretty cheap if what you got there is bogus.

Word. No problem.

Far as where to get the correct memory, Google and ye shall receive.

Personally, I've used http://www.edgetechcorp.com/memory/upgr ... ?cid=25213 (currently listing for $12 a stick) in the past, but again, you'll find no shortage out there.

don't forget that you also need to change the sample time in the sampling screen. go to the "time" selector with your cursor. if you can go up to 186.6 seconds, you know you've got the 32 Megs of RAM installed correctly.
