Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By mattestall Thu Sep 06, 2007 10:11 pm
So I just bought an MPC2000 off ebay but the row of pads on both the left and right hand sides are completely unresponsive. I have opened it up to have a look at the sensor sheet and everything looks okay. Anyone know what else might be causing this problem? Or somewhere in the UK, preferably London, that can take a look at it? I got a pretty good deal on it and have been refunded half the cost by the ebay seller to fix it but I'm pretty stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.

so the guy sold it to you broken? Down check the pad sensor ribbon cable.

Nah. It seems it was broken in transit. The guy seems totally honest and I'm happy with the conclusion we've reached. Provided I can fix it for £100. What do you mean by down check?

check the ribbon cable that connects the pads sensor to the mainboard. Usually when its not connected tight, pads die.

Just to let you know, I replaced the sensor sheet and everything is dandy. Worked out I got the MPC even cheaper in the end. Win.
