White Noise...

is thier supposed to be a white noise if nothing is plugged into the inputs and i have the gain on the mpc all the way cranked up?

i've been having noise issues as far as going from my mixer into my XL direct...

any thing you could recommend would be taken into serious consideration...

Turn the gain down on the mpc. Mines has never been turned up, I keep mines all the way down.

sounds to me like ur signal aint strong enough if you hear the noise, while sampling make sure the levels are as high as poss on ur mixer so it jus flickers the top red and you aint got no talkover button pressed... you prolly got a wonky mixer bro, upgrade... other than that recheck ur connections, if nothin is in the input hmm... is ur pc hooked up to the mixer also? there disgusing for them processing sounds.. ur mpc shud be crisp... have ur mp as the only source.. lob the headphones in the back of ur mp with nothin else connected... if u still hear it contact akai.
