hi

is it possible to filter through a sample on the mpc2000xl? i have not been able to this to date. i can set the cutoff frequency at the start of the sample and it stays at this setting throughout (even though i am adjusting the variation slider). however, i am unable to filter through the sample (ie trying to do a filter sweep). is this why they made the akai filter rack?

No. Equivalent to S-series ! modulations.

Highlight the filter settings and press OPEN WINDOW.
Then you can adjust the filter envelope to sweep up and down. Make sure to turn the "Amount:" up high.
It's not sweeping by hand, but it's better than nothing.

To control the filter of a sample with the Variation slide, you have to make sure the slider is activated to control the desired sample.

From main screen...SHIFT > NOTE ASSIGN button...Press pad with sample you want to filter...Set parameter to filter...Press MAIN SCREEN and your 'Good To Go'

NB* - When the NOTE ASSIGN button is highlighted (green), it will bypass the recorded filter programming.

The sweeping bizniz your talking about aint gonna happen tho

thanks for the response guys. much appreciated. i will use the envelope in future to try and get a "sweep" action going.
