Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sorry if any of this has been asked before..

Im looking to add a hardware feel to my sampling and sequencing and the mpc seems to be what im leaning towards, so here are my questions:

Ive used some Boss drum machines and used the pads on them, does the mpc work in the same way?

Equipment specific questions:

2000xl:
-Do any sounds come preloaded?
-What is the format the audio has to be in when transfering to the mpc? And can it export in .wav or does there need to be another piece of software on my computer to convert it from whatever format it might export in?
-Is there any big gain in choosing the 2000 over the 1000?
-Can it connect to a PC and if so what does it use? SCSI, usb, firewire, etc...

1000:
-Do any sounds come preloaded?
-Is there a large loss choosing the 1000 over the 2000?

Thanks ahead of time!

You need to download the manuals of both machines and get a feel of what machine is capable of. Make your choice when you are satisfied with whichever one fits your style of production homie..
