new user of a mpc

Hi guys,
Im a new MPC 2000XL user,

and i m just want to know the way to use it as a drum machin only
not a sequencer

and make it as a master to controle my other Sequencer ,

Heya..

If you've got your manual.. just read through it and go step by step in the beat making section.. its all pretty straight forward if you want to just use it to make beats... Ive found the best way to learn on the MPC is pure trial and error.. try something .. hit that button.. see if anything changed.. one of the best tips i can give is to use the "open Window" button wherever your cursor is or whatever your screen is on.. 9 times out of the 10 the "open windon" (orange button) will take you somewhere you might have had trouble getting to.

On making beats for the first few times.. im assuming you've loaded a few hits onto the pads.. a kick, snare and hat to start...

now the length should be defaulted to 2 bars.. this is cool.. tempo 120bpm.. just press record and play and you'll hear the click count you in.. it should just keep looping so you can continue adding over the top of what you have played already... that will all be recorded onto one track.. if you look at your lcd display you'll see "track +" "track -" if you press them they will scroll through new tracks or back to old ones (even will recording) this will allow you to sepearate your diff drum tracks..

Download the tutorials from this site and go through them.. they're pretty cool for learning.. and use the search feature on this site and trawl through everyones past questions and responses.. ive hardly ever posted that many questions in all my time in this group cause ive found most answers and examples on in the forums already..
