Midi MPC w/ TRITON

I know that i'm supposed to turn off the local control on the Triton and have my midi turned on with 1A-1A16. but it still does nothing. I get my sounds from the mpc to the Triton fine, but when i want to play sounds from my Triton to the mpc nothing comes out.
Can anyone help me out?

i got the triton rack, connected in <> out , and out <> in

choose instead of drum1 : Midi . Change OFF to 1A-Device.
If everythings correct attached you'll hear a sound by pressing pads..

change sounds :
select 1A for channel 1 in ttiron
2A for 2 ... use the the "multi-mode".

Try to clarify the issue for me if you can.

Are you saying the problem is triggering sounds on the Triton using the pads on the MPC?

All I've ever done when using the Triton (less and less nowadays) is put it into sequence mode, choose a sound for track 1, set the MPC to MIDI on track 1, MIDI channel 1, use the sound, either by hitting pads or playing with the keys on triton.

Then, move to track 2 on the triton, choose the sound, move to track 2 on the MPC, set it to MIDI, MIDI channel 2, etc etc etc.

ok now i can play triton sounds by pressing my pads but now i want to sequence my triton bass into the mpc sequencer but it seems to be not working. Do i need sometime type of external sequencer like a computer program such as Pro Tools or Reason?

No. You would just record the MIDI sequences into the MPC.

So, again, put the Triton into sequence mode. You're on track 1 by default. Choose a sound, say a drum kit.

Set the MPC on track 1 to MIDI, channel 1. You should now be in control of track 1 on the Triton when hitting the pads on the MPC. So, now it's just a matter of recording the MIDI sequence for that track. You can either do so by recording your hitting pads on the MPC, or if you have the Triton's MIDI out going to the MPC's MIDI in, you can trigger the sounds using the Triton itself. For drums, obviously, you probably want to use the pads, so record the drum sequence into track 1 on the MPC using them.

Now, on the Triton, move to track 2, then select the sound for track 2, say a bass. Go to the MPC, move to track 2, set it to MIDI channel 2. Now you can control the bass sound using the MPC pads. Again, record the sequence for the bass into the MPC, either using the pads or using the Triton itself.

The only thing that ever seems to throw things out of wack is if I don't remember to set the MIDI channels after changing tracks on the MPC. You can end up triggering 2 different sounds without meaning to if you don't.
