Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and the MPC 2000. I have been checking out this site for a few months now and it has helped me out more than once. I have finnaly decided to post a question, I have used the search function and the manual I'm just not finding what i need.

I'm trying to set up my samples so that when my finger releases from the MPC pads the sample stops playing. I know this is something I'm probably overlooking but I've spent a couple nights looking around for a parameter to change this setting. Right now the samples play all the way to their end.

Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks [email protected]

Hold Shift and press 6........press PARAMS.........tap the pad with the sample........move the cursor to the bottom of the screen and highlight poly.........turn the data knob until it says " note off".........now it will work how you want it.......for all other samples do the same thing if you want that type of effect

I'm at work so forgive me if I don't go deep in details.
You have to go under the screen that let's you change the pitch of the sample (you know, where you can turn the speed of the sample up and down) I forget what it's called right now. It's also the place where you can change the attack and decay. But in the bottom right hand corner of that screen it will say POLY and you have the option to change it to Off-MONO-POLY. Change that to Off and you will have to hold the key to make the sample play and when you release it will stop. Hope that helps and hope you didn't have to wait to long for a reply. :D
