Recording midi using MPC pads results in delayed playback

This is a strange one. Im using the MPC pads to play some drum samples on Battery and as I play in real time the latency is negligible so everythiing is fine there. But after recording using the MPCs pads in to Cubase SX3 my performance comes back a quarter note late so this is no use for loop recording or any recording full stop.

This just suddenly started happening for no reason I can think of an usually I can get to the bottom of any problems but this one has me totally stumped. There is no explanation for this considering playback is spot in when I hit the pads. I suspect its a cubase thing but before I investigate further I thought I should just check here.

And another thing, when I save a sequence as a midi file and load it in to SX3 many of the notes are much longer than they should be and Im not convinced the MPC is saving the notes positions accurately

Any suggestions?

in case anyones interested I fixed this problem (sort of) it wasnt an mpc problem. I reinstalled my sound cards driver which also has built in midi ports so I think the problem was there. How it happened I dont know.
