Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Rico_Suave Fri Jan 30, 2004 2:45 am
Hello,
I got a MPC2000XL, but I just want to use it for sequence, I think about buying an Akai S Series Sampler to work along side w/ my MPC. I know the S950 is pretty well known, but I've seen others like S1000, or S2000 for a good price. Are all the S Series compatible to work with a MPC?

Thanks (in advance) for your attention

All the S series samplers will work with your mpc. They all offer an excellent midi implementation. You are probably better off going for something a little new like S3000...

The 950 is 12 bit if you're going for that sound.
The S2000 is 16 bit, but if you're thinking of that one, go ahead and get the S3000XL. The interface is much improved and way easier to navigate, and faster to get work done. It also has waveform display editing.
I've had both the S2000 and S3000XL. I'd sell you my 3Kxl, but I just sold it this week.

You can also go to the S1000. It's old but it's a good & strongly built unit.
It's features, 2 XLR inputs, a low/mid/high selector, upgrade to 32MO,IB103 SCSI board, IB104 ASE/EBU board allow you to sample at 32,44,48Khz... But never record (in studio session) your Prog. in stereo, always use mono...
