MPC2000XL - Sound looping

I've cant seem to figure out how to slow the looping when I press Record:

This is what I do;I load sound (pgm)
Then I make bars : 2
then I press record and start hitting drum pad. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4

But when I try to overdub with something else it just sounds like. 1234 real quick, my english sucks. Sorry !

Can anyone help!

not to sure what u mean does the tempo change? tap the tap tempo button to the tempo your trying to sequence at is my guess

I think I got it sorted, I just restored everything to normal.
I'm new to MPC2000xl, I just bought it from another person oO
