piano program

i sampled a middle c not from a keyboard and i want to create a program that will spread it throughout all my pads and banks at different pitches to where i hook up a midi keyboard it will play the corresponding not

im on the mpc2000xl by the way

In case you don't know, its written everywhere on that big white book that says on the cover "AKAI MPC 2000xl M-A-N-U-A-L".

Create a program going from bank A, pad 1, note 37 up to bank D, pad 16, note 96 (or close to 96, not sure). It will allow chromatic assignement of each note in octaves.

so am i really goin to load the same sound one by one into every pad and then go and change eaches pitch??

the only thing i can think of is get an s2000 and pitch it across a midi keyboard and sequence it on the mpc...im sure theres other ways maybe buy a keyboard. word

I am dissapointed by the fact that you keep on refusing to read the manual. How are you supposed to master your equipment by guessing things?? Why do you think ppl write manuals? Just for trees to be cut down for paper production? Jesus man, in on **** page 117! AUTO CHROMATIC ASSIGNMENT. Yes! You load your piano sample on one pad, then hit 16 levels, select note variation and by magic you have 64 notes spread all over your pads. C'mon now, its not that hard...Lord jesus have mercy on the rest of us...

or use the 'auto' function in the program menu to create a new program.

Actually, auto chromatic assignement doesn't include half tones. At least I always get uneven result, some notes are always missing. That's why it is better to assign sample to each pad and increase/decrease pitch. Takes some time,but is more precise.
