syncing a 2000xl and a boss drum machine

Im kinda new to this site, the whole production game and i just got a used 2000xl. I also own a boss dr202. I have connected the boss midi in to the midi out of the mpc. Does anyone know how i can transfer the sounds from the drum machine to the mpc? the midi configuration steps i need to take? or is it impossible? hopefuly i left enough information. thanks!!

Firstly, you cannot transfer sounds from the drum machine to mpc. You can either sample them into mpc's memory or (better choice IMO) use midi properly and trigger them from mpc.
You have to read up on both manuals, to get to know the details. It's not very complicated though, so if you know midi basics, you should figure it out.
