loading .wav files into the MPC2000XL

hello everyone =)

i am trying to load .wav files into my MPC2000XL. i can load the first 64 samples to pads A1-A16 through to D1-D16.

how can i load more than 64 samples without overwriting the previous samples? ie how can i change to the next program when loading in the samples? i should be able to load 4 x 64 samples shouldnt i?

ps... i do not have a manual.

You need adobe acrobat to read it.

If you hit shift + 6 you go into program mode. you can make 4 programs with 64 sounds in each bank. (If you got the mem)
IF you want to change the programs under
track in the main menu it says S:DRUM1 you can change this 1-4 and record different programs on different tracks.

When you load sounds into memory, the pad assign that comes up after each load will assign the pad to the program currently selected on the main screen.

So, if on the main screen, track 1 DRUM1 is selected, then your pad assigns while loading will go to the program in DRUM1. If DRUM2 is assigned to the currently selected track, then any assigns while loading will go to DRUM2.

Personally, I just load them all into memory and assign later.

Download the manual and read the relevant chapter about this.

Loadin them all first is the best idea than assign in programs
Im just wondering why do you need all 64 pads in all 4 banks? THats alot of sounds. I start usin alot when I zone ish in trim. You might want to get MPCeditor at www.mpc2000xl.com If you have a zip disk. I find this to be a good way of making programs quick. Dude lets you demo it for 30 days. I like to put my chops from recyle up in there also.
