While I agree that people should read the manual, there's still an argument to say that if people didn't ask basic questions such as this, others wouldn't provide excellent responses such as rayeza's detailing his techniques and giving others an insight into it.
Every forum has it's share of beginners and experts.
I am sure there is only a small percentage of people who get a new MPC then the first thing they do is get the manual out, leave the MPC in its box, then sit and read for an entire day.
Nah, you get the beautiful machine out plug it in, bang away, ask a question on a forum. Enjoy it.
Like someone else said: by replying with "RTFM", you could have posted a reply or not bothered at all, or better still spent the time making music.
I would be interested to know how many people who do reply with "RTFM" don't actually know the answer to the question themselves.
