yeah you can. Download the pdf manual on the Akai prof website. Look up timestretch. That beat on that clip was awfull.

i know how to use time stretch, but time stretch won't do what he was doing. you'd have to use autochromatic then manually time stretch every new sound so they are all the same tempo

i think you can't do that on a 2000xl. would be cool if you can do that on the xl. i think you have to time stretch each sound manuelly. that's a really cool feature on the 2500.

No the MPC2000XL can not do this! This is Patch Phrase timestretching. No matter what speed he slows the sample up or down it will always play the exact BPM and length of the sample instead of making faster & shorter.

s2000? this isn't just time stretch. this lets you do the 16 bars at different tuning without changing the tempo. you can't do that on the 2000 or 2000xl. you can time stretch but the machine won't give you 16 different pitches for one sound WITHOUT changing the tempo. You could do it yourself but that would take forever.

Is there an easy way to do it manually? I've seen some websites that calculate timestretching for you. Do any of these calculate how much you have to stretch it for how much you tune it. If this makes any sense let me know. Thanks.

Better off using a turntable that can pitch lock while time stretching...

or use a program such as Acid Pro or Reaper to import the WAV, time stretch while maintaining pitch (by dropping the WAV into the correct bpm project), and re-assigning the sound once you bring it back in to the MP.

I'll just get a 2500

time stretching 1bar stereo loops on the mpc is out of the question, especially if one was to do 16. the 2000xl just wasn designed for his, and doesnt have the guts to do this in the speed of the 2500. i suggest you get a computer or upgrade to the 2500, if u want this feature. ableton is were its at.
