assigning different programs within a sequence

please excuse lack of knowledge as Im still learnin.
I've been having difficulties in using more than one program within a sequence. I own a 2000 original but only have a manual for 2000XL. following the XL manual I can't get different different tracks to use different programs, If I change track 2's DRUM thing to another setting e.g. DRUM 2 it will change every tracks program to DRUM 2.
Sorry if you've already had to answer this but I couldn't find it anywhere in the forum search.
I just wanna know can the 2000 orig have more than one program running within a sequence? at the mo every sample program I have has my drum sounds in em.

I have an original MPC2000 also, but I never tried to use multiple programs for 1 sequence... have you tried putting one of your programs on bank A and one on bank B or C or D? You have four banks to put your samples in... I think you should be able to select different programs though, I'm gonna have to try myself hands-on and tell you how it works, give me a day or two to try it out cause I'm busy with work all week but I will post it up here when I do it...

I know about the different banks, but it should be possible to have multiple programs unless this is another exclusive to the XL over the 2000
