I just searched and could find nothing on is there a sound difference between the MPC 2000XL and MPC 2500. Id love to hear from people who have used both ?

I own both - 2000 XL MCD and a 2500 (had a 1000 too).
In short:
2000XL: has sharper / more snappy mids, not quite as clean as the 2500 / 1000 engine.
2500: same sound as the 1000. Clean, smooth, but a little scooped making it less harsh.
