Segate external hard drive went down help!!!

Hello All

This morning my segate 4.xx baracuda whatever harddrive went down...


I was just listening to some tracks I made last week and boom. It was making all types of noise then stopped... and when it stopped the MPC couldn't see it anymore......@#$@&*$@@%*@@@*^@%@$@^#&

I got this thing because the same had happend with a 250 zip and I lost 200 beats plus $100 in trying to recover it. I thought I could back up to my PC from it but was wrong... When I formatedted on my pc it would only give me small patition from A-Z and the mpc could only see a... which was as big as a floppy.....so I just made the best out of a bad situation and now look!!!!

Am I out of about 100 more beats now... the best I've ever made may I add.... if so I can't deal with my 2000xl no more I'll get the 1000 or 4000 cause I need something that I can back up to via usb so I can just dump my backups without making a scsi soul train line<< they should have put one on the MPC2000xl>> I like it and don't want to leave it... but they are giving me no choice..... and by the way f*** zip drives and floppys.... you can kick my a$$ but I will still get back up with my nose bloody and say funk them...... And hard drives and computers and I just want my shhhhi*** back man. I jupj;/

Hey It's back... it's back what can I do??? I got to go to work now but what can i do. Buy some more zip << which I still hate and say F too>> and back up or get another hard drive.... or send it to some computer geek or what ? I will be back around lunch.

Buy another hard drive and buy Ghost 7.5 or lower. Create a boot disk and CLONE your failing HD to the new HD that you buy, this will bring over all files or existing material and you could have a backup. OR you could bring the files over to your EXISTING HD and then save them to disk or whatever you want to do. Remember the keyword is CLONE. peace I do this all the time and it is not hard.

From who? $100 just to tell you they can't do it? AFAIK, I am the only one that performs Akai data recovery. I have always recovered short of physical failure and I have only charge over $100 once that was for 1.5 Gig recovery.

I am still at work but as soon as I get back I am on it.

... MPC3000 I think it was $700~$1000 for them to fix the 250 zip disk, which they did. They said it was a little physical damage .... but by the time they got the disk it was wiped clean so it didn't matter.... 100 just for looking at it and they destroyed it for me for free .

That's how I lost 100. I went with this cheaper place in florida... IK should have sent it to Cali they had a special way for me to pack it and all so it wouldn't had got wiped clean... I had to be cheap...

MPC 3000 I got another disk I screwed up on the same day but i drop this one in the toilet too. I was mad about the disk and knocked the otherone of the counter into the toilet.... my studio is a walk through closet between my bedroom and bathroom..... what's up??? Want to give it a shot... and by the way it was a freshly cleaned toilet.... if there is such a thing.

If you want to give it a shot e-mail me I will send it to you. I don't even remember what's on the disk. So it will be a delight finding some burried treasure.
