static

I have opened up the mpc and fitted some ram, its now making static noises when I touch the casing .

What I need to know is how to remove the static?

I have googled and all I can find is to take care when fitting to not get static, however I HAVE static and need to remove it.

You may have **** up the ram or the machine. In order to avoid static your supposed to keep "grounded". It's better to open the machine up somewhere you won't be walking on carpeting. Some people wear gloves to avoid a static charge. I usually open my machine near an electric outlet. Right before any work is done I touch near the outlet to ground any static I may have. I would take out the ram in hopes the problem goes away. I've heard of people installing bad ram. If the problem goes away maybe reinstall it to make sure it wasn't an installation error the first time.
