can the mpc2000 take 8 MB RAM chips?

it doesnt say anything about it in the manual, only 4mb and 16 mb, why's that?

Try it and find out is all I can tell you? They are very cheap actually.

yeah thats what I thought myself. then I thought, I dont really wanna open up the thing and mess around if I dont know it'll work. and besides, those rams aint easy to find around here, wont waste money on something that wont work.

i would suggest you find a 16 mb chip....if i remember correctly i think i have a 32mb chip in mine.....or 2 16mb..i forgot but your mpc is more than an experiment....handle with care and please touch metal before you touch the inside of your mpc
