I don't mean to start a BS thread, but when I was installing my 8 out card the other day, I couldn't help but notice all of the extra available open slots.

I have installed the EB16 before too, and know which slot that goes to, but over by the cables that go to my MCD drive (used to be a floppy I guess) there is still room for 2 more possible devices that would run off of the ribbon cable...

Is this the extra SCSI ports?

And if so,

1. Could you run an internal hard drive? (small gig I'm assuming)

2. Could you also run MCD, internal HD, and Ext. ZIP on the available slots?

Thanks, Never really got the low down on the internal schematics for this one, any help is appreciated

DOPE.

Next time you open it up, you should see what hard drive you have now... make model etc.

Sent me a message when you do!

I am looking to do this rather soon, if I can find the correct HD.

i didnt open it up yet, but its a scsi 68 pin with a 50 pin adapter. i read at scsi for samplers.com that the xl can only read a few gigs, but i have 18 gigs in mine it works fine.you have to be creative were u mount it.i screwed mine to the bottom plate where the 8 outs go,im about to get a 2.5" 20 gig ide like juke179r with a scsi adapter so i can move it and install the 8 outs and the fx board.it works great in combo with the cf card, easy transfers, plenty of space&ill never have to buy anymore cf cards.

I'm about to try to get a combo of the EB-16 and the Filter Board from the s3000 series. Not sure though if there is an available slot on the mobo as I don't remember how it looks inside, lol!

the filter board will only work on on the S series samplers, the models are the s3000xl and the s32000xl which acually comes wih the multi-mode filter board installed. i'd kill for multi mode filtrs inside my 2000xl..
