mpc2000xl power supply

Hi all, I just got an old beige xl shipped over here from the US and the power supply seems to be 120V only (above the socket it has AC120V 60~ written)

It is the model with the old school akai logo.

Is this true? I have asked this question before and Juke said his old beige had a switching power supply, as do all the newer MPCs

(The older Beige 2000XL) The internal transformer is dual voltage so it 'senses" if it is 110 - 240 VAC you are pluggin it into.
I bought mine when I lived in Cali (120 VAC/60 Hz) and now I use it over here in England (240VAC/50 Hz).
You don't have to switch anything but the power cord. And make sure it is grounded power cord (3 prongs)

But the newer MPC's I have no Idea...

I have not encountered that. They usualy look like in this picture.

Well the mystery is solved....

I guess it had a check over in an electronics shop or something when it was in the US because the little 120V sign was actually a sticker covering the proper sign which of course has universal power.

So this is good!!!

Except I ran out and bought a tranformer....

Ah well. Now i'm just figuring out how the bloody thing works!!!
