MPC2000XL sequencing Triton, can it pitch bend?

I've had the MPC2000XL for a while now, and I love it for drums and chopped samples, but I'm thinking about buying something like the new Triton Extreme for multisamples. One of my main goals is being able to pitch bend things like bass lines.

I'd like to store all of the sequences in the MPC. I'd play the Triton stuff on the Triton, but I want to record the MIDI sequence on the MPC, since I'm so familiar with the MPC sequencer. I know that the MPC can't pitch bend it's own internal sounds, but can the MPC sequencer record a MIDI pitch bend from another device such as the Triton? If not, then I probably won't use the MPC sequencer for the Triton.

For those of you with an MPC and a Triton, where do you store your sequences. On the MPC? The Triton? The MPC and the Triton? A software sequencer such as Sonar? Let me know, I'm trying to figure out how to fit a Triton into my setup. Thanks.

I think it does. Works for my synth.

I haven't got in to programming pitch bend into the MPC, but it can certainly record Pitch Bend sent via MIDI from the keyboard, as well as any other MIDI Data recieved. Just record it onto an MPC MIDI channel, even a seperate one if you want more control, just like you would play some keys.

This works perfectly for my Novation, and the MPC even records the sweeps from my little Electribe which are NRPNs and not standard CC (or so I read somewhere!)

I just save all the Voice settings on the Synth itself, and the Sequence data on the MPC ZIP. Just name them the same on both and its simple - many a lost, hazy hour due to lazy naming!!

That's good news, I didn't think it would work. So what does the pitch bend data look like on the MPC? Is it possible to edit the pitch bend data?

i have never stored any midi on software(not knocking it though)....but your plan will work...i am a triton owner and i store the settings on the triton and midi info on the MPC just name the sequences and make variations and you are good to go......for the pitch bend that will also work but if you start with the pitch wheel already bent on your first note the MPC will not record that data......but what alot of ppl will tell you is that the sequencer in the triton sucks.....don't get me wrong it is far from an mpc(the ease factor makes it a top choice)....but they are dead wrong it has just been used improperly remember just because you have a quantizer doesn't mean you can forget about timing..... but for the past year i have been using just the MPC(solely) alot........
