You have to format the disk before the mpc can use it.

the disk is formatted. it is just that i am trying to spead a song over 4 disks

Yeah, I was kinda trying to avoid that issue... :)

It should work in theory but in real life I have had varied results with the multiple floppy save. You should consider getting a new scsi hard drive or zip.

In the long run, that is. For now try saving the sequence data separately, and the program and sample data on the multiple run floppies.

It was a loooong time since I had this problem, but if I remember right I got it to work on one or two occasions. The problem could also be that there is a long sample stretching over an entire disk or more, but I never got any clear idea what worked and didn't, as I quickly got myself a zip drive to solve the problem...

Not much help, but hang in there and don't lose your head.

U SBHOULD GET A ZIP IN MY OPINION IF U GET A ZIP 250 U SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS PLUS IT WILL LOAD 100MB + 250MB ZIPS EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus the Blankz Are Alot Easier to Fild For Chead Than The JAZ JOINTZ............... 8)

It's definitely SCSI

By bigG Sun Dec 02, 2007 9:22 pm
is it a standard scsi cable?
or one of those 25 pin ones?

It's a 25 pin socket on the zip drive, the same as on the MPC2000.

Edit: The 25 pin to 25 pin cable normally comes as standard w/ a Zip drive.

card reader FTW!

By bigG Mon Dec 03, 2007 5:23 pm
will a card reader work on 2k?

By Muied Lumens Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:22 pm
Yeah, an external scsi card reader will. But I personally would just use a plain hard disk.
