Best Keyboard to buy to work with mpc

Im looking for a keyboard to use with my mpc, i want one,thats top quality,can produce great sounds obviously, but i dont have too much space to work with ,so i could do with a small type keyboard/synthesiser, any recomendations,oh and at a reasonable price-$300-500?

I was checking out some synths a while back. I found the yamaha mo6 to be the best in my budget (1000€). They also have a mm6 which is the little brother of the mo6.

In the end I went with a sound module and using my trusty EPS as midi controller though.

All depends what kind of sounds and sound you want from it and what you want to do with it.

You say you don't have much space...Can you fit a 61 keys synth?

If you want good recommendations, I suggest you give us more info on how small they keyboard needs to be, what type of sounds you wanna get out of it, etc etc...

maybe check out the micro korg or Alesis micron. They have decent bass and synth sounds. I would also recommend any of the Roland rackmount synth modules or any of the E-mu proteus series. With those you will need a separate midi controller. But again, it all depends on the type of sound you're looking for, etc.

asr 10 or eps 16 +

for space and bang for the buck. you should look into a proteus2000 rack module and like a m-audio controler. that should keep you in the price range and the proteus has 8 banks of sounds.

How about a Roland SH-09 or SH-101? Great sounds, and good for learning synthesis if you're not familiar w/ synths. Pretty small too (32 keys). Kind of the poor man's Moog. $400-550 on ebay.

Could i use the proteus 2000 module with an M-Audio keystation to record live on my MPC 2000XL (while the drum loop is playing)?
