8 output setup

I have the 8 output expander,but have not used it yet.I have a few questions.What is a good daw to use with it(reasonably priced).I have a roland sp 808 but it has only 2 inputs(rca),I know I could go 1/4 in to rca,but i think it might defeat the purpose,as I want to really run all 8 outs at once(is that possible?)If anyone using this method could fill me in,that would be great.I have been looking at the Lexicon omega usb.

Is that soft or hard ware?

I think he ment software, as for DAW - digital audio workstation. There are hardware boards out there that operate in digital as well, so I might be wrong. However...cheap + powerful = software in my opinion.

the digi003/protools/ but the the price is kinda chunky..

I got the 8 outs too.and would like to get the signal into a mixer and digitalised out but not stereo,each channel for itself so I can change everything in the mixer and and do not have to record channel by channel...any mixers known???

I guess I meant more of a digital interface.Digi03 looks very promising,but a little out of my price range right now. p.s. ;I have usb not firewire.

Do you have a laptop or desktop?

If you have available PCI card slots you might want to consider something like the EMU 1212 or similar.

Alot cheaper than comparable USB/Firewire interfaces.

Personally I have a Metric Halo MIO which is amazing - converters and pre's are fantastic. But its prolly a little out of your price-range, and only for Mac:

RME makes some nice product too - you could checkout Hammerfall PCI card interface, or Fireface 800 or 400 interfaces too.
