Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I got my mpc2kxl 2 weeks ago,
my biggest problem still is saving....
the many saving options confuse me (maybe cause I`m german)...
for example: i have set up a program of drums and samples for my first beat, and wanted to add some drums to the same program later...but it wont save the new drums....i tried different types of saving...
..
when does it make sense to save s.th. as .all ?

I already lost my first beat because of saving failures, please help

thanks

ALWAYS save "ALL" and "APS" at least every 10 minutes while working AND when finished for the day and you should be fine.

its not saving failures, its users failures. just gotta get your head around the file types and system. u must use " .aps " when working on a beat consisting of more than 1 drum program. other wise it will only save the sequence and you will have to call up each program into the appropriate holder each time when loading that beat.
