OLD 2000XL and effects?

My MPC 2000XL has no effects board in it. Will the effects board im finding online (Akai EB16 Sampleverb Effects Board) work on the old 2000XL? Or just the new one? How hard is it to install?

What new one? They only made 1 that I know of.

the newer MCD blue one w/ updated OS . . . I got the grey one from like 99 or something

The EB-16 effects card is the same for all MPC2000XL's there is not 2 effects cards. If you have blue or white or gray or black XL it don't matter they all use the same Effects card.

i've had the fx card for the last 8years....and i wish ida saved my $$$ and just bought the 8-outs instead and a rackmount multi-fx instead for $99....the akai fx are kinda boooty.....not worth $249 or whatever...just my 2cents...
