SCSI SyJet on 2000XL?

I got a free SyJet and just tried to use it on the XL.

While initiating a format; the XL will display the drive identity but when I press DO IT, it says 'SCSI Not Ready'. Do I need to terminate the SCSI on the SyJet? Does my OS need to be upgraded to 1.20?

I never heard of those drives, but you always need to terminate the last device in a SCSI chain.
